Rustic wedding theme ideas add a casual country flair to your big day. Provide a shabby chic atmosphere, a southern-style hoedown or a simply elegant wedding look with rustic ideas which incorporate unique floral, decor and design elements. A rustic wedding theme is very budget-friendly, and a good solution for do-it-yourself (DIY) brides who want to use a lot of homemade items and ideas.
Rustic Wedding Colors
To bring your rustic ideas to life, choose a color palette that fits with the wedding theme. Earth tones in deep yellow, gold, sage, celadon, rust, tan and cinnamon are perfect when you want to create a rustic, country look. Neutral earth tones still create bold pops of color, and match well with rustic flowers and decor.
Rustic Venues
The setting of your rustic wedding is every bit as important as the theme itself. It might be hard to create a rustic look at an elegant cathedral, so choose a venue that will match well with your wedding ideas. Look for local barns and open fields where you can bring your rustic theme to life. Natural scenery creates a stunning visual element, giving you a palette from which to work with all your other ideas and design elements. Anderson’s Country Manor provide the natural scenery that will compliment your rustic theme.
Rustic Flowers
Choose flowers with large blossoms and petals that naturally grow in earthy colors to create a rustic look in your floral arrangements and bouquets. Flowers which are associated with natural gardens, as opposed to hothouse blooms, create a more natural, rustic look. Sunflowers, black-eyed susans, daisies and lupine can help bring your rustic theme to life.
Place floral arrangements in watering cans, baskets, mason jars and clay pots to add another decorative country element. Add dragonflies and butterflies to bouquets and arrangements to include more rustic touches. Clusters of berries create another natural style element in bouquet and floral arrangements.
Flowers aren’t the only way to create a country, rustic theme for your wedding. Corn stalks, dried earns of corn, pumpkins, apples, cinnamon sticks and sprigs of lavender are easy to find, affordable and attractive. Wheat stalks and branches add more rustic elements to your decor.
Reception Ideas
Your wedding event isn’t limited to the ceremony alone, so carry the rustic theme to your reception as well. Create a picnic, barbecue or potluck-style dinner with iced tea and apple cider to give guests a relaxed, down-home rustic feeling. Red and white checkered tablecloths will help bring the rustic theme home. Cornbread, apple pies, pulled pork and other country favorites should be included on the menu. After-dinner square dancing and bluegrass music will add even more rustic elements to your wedding reception.
Your rustic wedding theme should incorporate simple decor. Place floating candles in clay pots, and fill mason jars with popcorn or dried beans to create pretty country decorations. Use baskets and natural fruit (apples, cherries and pears) to make unique centerpieces. Couple face each other. Join your right palms and then left palms. This forms the “infinity symbol” with your hands. Meaning that your love will go on forever.
Shakespeare said, ” Now join your hands, and with your hand’s your hearts”.
Look into each other”s eyes and read the following:
These are the hands of my best friend. They are holding yours on your wedding day as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow and forever.
These are the hands that will work alongside yours as together you build your future.
These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch will comfort you like no other.
These are the hands that will hold you when fear and grief wracks your mind.
These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it.
May these hands always reach out with love, tenderness and respect.
May these hands continue to build a loving relationship that lasts a lifetime.
With eyes locked, and hands linked, this blessing is a beautiful symbol of the union of two hearts, two lives and two souls.

The type of lighting scheme a bride and groom chooses crafts the mood of the wedding and accents the finer points of a venue. Illuminating a wedding event site, whether it is a tent, walkway or outdoor patio creates an intimate setting for guests to enjoy while dining, dancing and socializing throughout the evening. The glow that light provides during a wedding ceremony, particularly as a bride walks down the aisle, establishes an aura of romance.
Walkways and Aisles
Outdoor lighting that illuminates walkways and aisles is effective in creating a visible path for guests and provides a romantic glow, particularly for evening weddings. Staking multiple strands of Christmas tree lights into the ground along pathways allows for easier movement and the safety of guests. Stringing paper lanterns from above ground posts using ground levels spotlights or stand-alone lanterns adds elegance to the lighting scheme. Lining walkways with tiki torches achieves a similar effect and adds to a themed motif such as a Luau-style wedding, beach wedding or evening garden wedding.
Centerpieces
Implementing candles as a centerpiece sets a mood, allowing guests to indulge in an elegant candlelit dinner while celebrating the love and marriage of a couple. Candle centerpieces provide illumination, fragrance and aesthetics to a reception site. Candles of varying heights standing on a mirror reflect to spread more light throughout a room, highlighting linens, china and floral arrangements. Filling glass vases or bowls with clear marbles or gems and using a battery powered light within the vase allows light to reflect off the gems, creating the look of crystals. Vases filled with flowers and water, topped with floating candles, provide a delicate floral and candle arrangement, lighting the table for guests while eating.
Focal Points and Dining
Accenting focal points, such as trees, gazebos, archways, fountains, bars and dance floors, by outlining them with Christmas tree lights or by shining a spotlight or color wash on them expands on a wedding venue’s areas of interest for guests to enjoy. Implementing fluorescent lighting or different colors of light generates the mood of a wedding and provides different palettes of color that you can switch throughout the event. Stringing strands of white Christmas lights diagonally from the ceiling of a tent creates a canopy effect and lighting for guests while dining or dancing, while hanging large bunches of circular lanterns above tables produces an ethereal design.

To make the outdoor wedding successful, you need to plan it carefully and choose the right location. You should consider the weather condition before fixing the date for an outdoor wedding ceremony.
Unique Outdoor Wedding Ideas
Once you choose the location for outdoor wedding ceremony, you may go for its decoration using different themes. Since the outdoor locations are full of natural beauty, only a few decorations are required. You can enhance the beauty of the location by using candelabras, vines, flowers, tulle weaved around gazebo rails, floral or wooden archways, tiered floral display, aisle runner, potted flowers or pew decorations at the ends of row or chair covers or bow. You can decorate the ceremony site in such a way that it can be used for the reception ceremony too.
A great wedding arch is the major decoration for an outdoor wedding ceremony. You can go for ready made arches or you can opt for the handmade arches. Otherwise, you can buy a simple arch and decorate it with the colorful flowers and ribbons. A special lighting is definitely a great idea for the outdoor wedding. You may use the string lights or customized wedding lanterns, which can add a unique style and a sense of serenity to the wedding location. Foods and beverages served in the outdoor wedding ceremony should suit to the wedding time. During summer, you can select food that includes fresh juicy fruits such as strawberries, pineapples, watermelon and papaya. The main course should include the seafood such as fresh lobster, oyster and meat. Try to avoid alcoholic drinks, as they can be dehydrating. Serve the guests with some refreshing beverages such as fruit punches, lemonades or iced teas.

Outdoor weddings can be beautiful, amazing affairs, but there is a lot that goes into planning and preparing for an outdoor wedding. Make sure you consider all of the options and what goes into having an outdoor wedding and think about these things when you make your final decision.
Time of Year
There are a few factors that go into this consideration. The first is temperature. You don’t want a day that is too hot, or a day that is too cold. You don’t want guests freezing and shivering during your ceremony, but you also don’t want them sweating the whole time either. In most climates spring and early fall are the best time to have you wedding, but depending on your location that can differ. If you are further north a summer wedding might be perfectly enjoyable, and if you’re further south a wedding in the later fall might be what you want. Also take into consideration the precipitation in your area. Although you certainly can’t control if it rains, in some places during some seasons it’s more likely than others. Become familiar with your local weather.
Location
There are many places that you can have an outdoor wedding, but make sure you pick a place that best accommodates your needs. While a backyard wedding might seem quaint, if you are planning on inviting hundreds of people it might not be realistic. The Farmhouse is a private country estate situated on four acres of manicured grounds and over 300 citrus and shade trees and a feeling of a park-like atmosphere. Our spacious facility has glimmering outdoor lighting gazebo, and vine covered arches in the gardens. We can accomidate parties from 20 up to 200 guests.
Always Have a Back-Up Plan
If you’re planning an outdoor wedding, no matter how much research you do and how well you plan, there is always a chance that mother nature might interfere in some way. Whether it is excessive heat, a thunderstorm, or even unexpected snow, make sure you have an alternative. The best alternative is to have an indoor location available. Perhaps it’s another property owned by the place that you are renting your outdoor space from. You could also go with tents for you wedding, which will cover you in case of rain. Just keep in mind that you’ll need big tents with plenty of space, because guests seated at the edge of the tents may just get a shower they don’t want if there’s wind that day.
